Welcome from the Chair of the Finnish Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (FINCAT)
Welcome to the 9th International Cognitive Analytic Therapy Conference 15th to 17th of June, 2023. It will be the second time in ICATA’s history that we meet in Finland. Last time was the 1st ICATA conference at the Valamo Monastery 20yrs ago. June is a lovely time of year to visit Finland and the long summer evenings are magical.
Much has happened in the world since our last meeting in 2019 in Ferrara, Italy. During the pandemic we’ve met in different webinars and been mainly online. This conference will be only live attendance. We are looking forward to meeting CAT therapists from all experience levels. Come and reconnect with colleagues from around the world.

Call for contributions
The International Cognitive Analytic Therapy Association (ICATA) in association with the Finnish Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (FINCAT) would welcome submissions which recognise and celebrate what CAT has achieved with individuals and within systems. We would also welcome contributions which explore, celebrate and critique what the CAT model and its theoretical foundations have to offer in the current climate.
Contributions may be in the form of a presentation, poster or a workshop.
Those who wish to discuss their ideas prior to submission are welcome to contact the ICATA representatives in their national association or email the following conference committee members (X) (icata2023@arcada.fi ).
All contributions will normally be in English. Those whose first language is not English are welcome to bring a collegue to translate and will be given extra time. Once submitted, your contribution will be reviewed by the organising committee. All submissions will need to be approved by the committee before being accepted for the conference programme.
